Anyone out there do 1/72 Soviet/Russian aircraft? I like all aircraft but these are a favorite. I’m currently working on an A-Model Sukhoi T-4 “Sotka”. Very limited numbers of this kit were produced and the fit is pretty crude. I’ve seen photos of one built-up, so a competent modeler should be able to handle this one. If anyone else is working this kit, let me know what ya think!
Always interested in red-stared stuff…! Currently building Trumpeter’s 1/144 Il-76. Beautiful kit. Trying to decide whether I’ll let myself be tempted by their 1/48 Flagon… Love that machine!
I have built several Russian aircraft with most of my effort being on vacumform (VF) models. I have the Bison, Blinder and Bounder built up as well as the Su-37 and Mig-29 (injection kits). I have a large stash of VF Russian kits including the Moss and Bear as well as several fighter class types. Currently, most of my efforts are on building American experimental aircraft. If you are looking for any specific information on Russian Aircraft let me know. Contact me via direct E-mail. mats.man@cox.net
Holy poop! Dec 2002! Talk about pulling one out of your backs side. The funniest think is the response this thread got! I love it just for the entertainment value! I only have two WWII russian aircraft in my fleet. The 1/48 Acadamy I-16 and the old Airfix 1/72 Pe 2. I do have an old 1/72 Ilyushin IL-10 in the stash. I do not know if I want to build it because I have never seen another one build or unbuilt.
The Trumpeter TU-160 has been on my list wish for some time. I have heard & read more than enought people waxing on about how good it is - shame its so expensive, but “you get what you pay for”.
Got a couple of Hinds, a Frogfoot and several R-7 variants ICBM, Sputnik, etc. May have to get some more Hinds as I’ve found some cool Tiger Meet decals for them.
