This group build is dedicated to the bombers of the world, Medium or Heavy in any scale from any era, from any country.
The start date of this prodject is June 1st, and the compleation date will be January 1st.
Feel free to post any pictures of your models in any stage of construction at any time.
Also regular updates on the progress of your model would be appreciated.
Anyone can join in, and the group list will be posted here with the name of your project.
Remember have fun with this, and also recall these words to keep you motivated through kits like Monograms, (Fighter piolets make movies, but the crews of bombers make history.)[:D][8D][B)][^]
I’m in for as long as it’s okay to have one kit in 2 GBs… [:D] If not, I’ll just grab the B-17B i saw today… [sigh] more money sucked into the black hole of hobby shops…
Does a Revellogram 1/48 B-25 with just the decals and weathering left count?[:-^] Well, I still have a 1/48 B-26 to build by September for a Vet if Great Models ever ships the thing.
And the AM SBD for the AM build. These group builds are great reasons to half to build models.[:D]
Close…I hang everything in my living room. [:D] The B-17s are my wife’s (building them for her), the B-29 is mine. I alternate what I build, 2 for me, 1 for her.
I have a couple of 1/72 scale B-17’s I am gonna start on soon. A Hasegawa B-17G and the old Revell B-17F. Maybe I can be part of this build also. This will technically be my second group build since I just threw my hat in the ring for the Accurate Miniatures group build. But hey I wanna be a part of both. Maybe someone will do an A-M B-25 and join the two builds somewhat.
Well this is your lucky day Im in on both builds with the AM B-25G hows that for luck, oh and I hope you know what your getting into with that Revell 1/72 B-17F, it was a horrible build for me when I built it, and it has no interior detail, just a porrly made bombay and a cockpitfloor with two seats, not to mention the fit of that thing. Well it will e interesting to see how you do. Oh and to all how want to be in Im putting your names on the group list ok.
So I figure I’m about 3/4 through the interior of my B-24 - and yesterday my July issue of FSM comes in the mail. I just happen to glance at p. 85… “Coming in the September issue… Detail a European Theatre B-24”.
Am I allowed to whine ? …And I gotta wait 2 months !
list of who’s in and doing what (maybe at the beginning of the thread, original post?)
Since there are so many GBs going on, what about something like November for a completion date. Personally, I have 3 models ahead of my B-17F, so that’d probably be about right for me. Just a thought. [:D]
Hey Im putting everyone down right now ok, it may take a minent or two. Ok it is done, oh and Knight take a look at the very first post in this topic, it has everything there, except for the Patch thing to say we did this, I dont know how to do that so if two people could take that up, so we could see two different designs and vote on them, it would be greatly appreciated.
Oh Im going to get my 1/48 B-24D, The Lady Be Good, and my 1/48 B-29 done early because I have two competitions in october that I have to get them ready for, but my B-25G, other B-24D, and my B-17G/F (not shure what version ill make it yet) will be compleated as scheduled.
May I also join in this one - it may be a Halifax B1MkII - or provided the motivation works the ICM kit of the TB- 3 - a very unusual kit - makes quite a change - largely follows scratch built system with fuselage formers - ribs and spars etc,!!! Looks extremely agricultural - and because of the corregated skin there is no opportunity for filling with “putty” and sanding down. It will be best viewed from a scale distance of 500m or thereabouts!
Hey if you want to join be our guest, it sounds like a very interesting model, the TB-3, I dont belive I am familiar with that aircraft, is it of more modern era, or is it around the Korean to Veitname era, or is it WW2 era. Also what scale is it, the Halifax too, kinda hopeing the Halifax is a 1/48, that would be so cool to see.
Oh who knows how to get inages on here, I think I came up with a good patch design for this group.
