Back from my trip to Denver with some new toys.

Well, I said I would post some pics of what I bought while I was in Denver, so here it is.

Two Zeros, a 109, a Spitfire, and a Hurricane. Not a lot, but I guess the prices were about average. I ended up spending a little more than I had planed on. I hear that the Hurricane is really good though. Anybody have any advice on these models (poor/good fit, decals, detail)? Thanks.[8D]

Looks like some nice kits. The hurricane goes together real well, but you have to becareful where the underside of the wing root meets the fuselage. Spend some time trying to get that fit right and avoid the step and required resanding of the fabric.

They are all very good kits. The Hurricane is the toughest build of the bunch, but it’s well within the skill of an average modeler. Enjoy the Builds.

Regards, Rick

Great looking purchases.

Aviator;
So did you purcahse those at Colpar Hobbies?, That is the only Hobby shop to survive the trials of time there, I Lived there for most of my life until 1999 and the 5 years I was in the AF Active Duty, but they still have a really good slection of kits & supplies too

No, I bought them at a store called Hobby Town USA. It was close the the area were I was staying, and they have quite a selection (compared to my LHS). It was a fun trip.[:)]

I have the Spitfire, and from the dry fits, there doesn’t seem to be any fit problems at all.

I just finished that spit about a month ago. It went together well. Had some small issues around the fuselage/wing joint, but nothing putty can’t overcome. Enjoy.

Yeah, I just finished that Hurricane kit and you’ll definitely have to watch out for that little step between the underside of the wing and the rear fuselage. I worked at it for a while and it still looks wrong. The good news is that everything else about the kit is fantastic. I bought a passel of AM parts for it but, to be honest, they really weren’t that much more detailed than the kit parts.

I opened one of the Zeros and it looks pretty good. It has two canopies, one in the closed position and the other is in three parts so you can have it in the opened position. It also comes with two color references. I’m glad I got two of them. I just hope there’s nothing wrong with them.
