Looking for detail photos of B1B. Building a Monogram 1/48 scale model and need info. Does anyone have or know where to get new “featherless” engine exhausts for the B1? The Monogram ones are not correct. Any ideas on scratchbuilding these?

There’s several books out there that’ll help you, the Squadron In Action being one, although there are far better available. Schiffer, I think, makes a nice hardcover, the title of which escapes me.
Anyhoo, here’s some links to a few walkarounds which you may find useful. There’s more out there, just do a search on Google or another search engine.

If you need a specific pic let me know, I prepped the we have one on static at Mountain Home. The cockpit is closed up and the enginges replaced but I can get exterior pics of just about everything else if you can’t find what you need on the net.

Aries has a set for the 1/48 Bone, and I think Engine & Things has a set too, your best bet is check out www.greatmodels.com and they have just about all of the parts for that kit,

I was a youngster living in Danbury CT many years ago. I went to a day camp called Camp Shut-a-win on lake Kenosia. I remember one day there was talk of an airplane to fly overhead. I first heard it was to be a C-47, or DC-3. Now this was in the late 1980’s. Well wouldn’t you know it happened to be a BONE. The pilots mother apparently lived in the next town over. So he did three low level passes over our heads. Their was a small airport nearby and he right over us. The thrill was something I will never forget. It was so low we felt we could touch it. We were in a late afternoon free swim when it happened. Boy what a cool thrill.
