I played with this photo a bit & am pretty happy with the way it turned out. This is another one of the new kits.

Looks good! Add some background behind the STUG, a little grainy-ness and fading to the pic and it’ll look like something out of a WWII history picture book. What’s the thin verticle line that runs down the corner of the building? It looks too small to be a rain gutter downspout (maybe?). Very nice work!
That’s an excellent idea… I’m gonna start doing that with some of mine…
As said, make it more grainy… Just making it B/W won’t do the trick to make it look realisitc… ![]()
I tinkered with the composition & effects a bit. I like this one better.

MUCH better! That looks fantastic!
[#ditto] Yes! Very cool!
I like it without being able to see a figure, too! Much more realistic!
Just for fun, I added a couple little touches… Hope you don’t mind…

Again, very nice buildings, and your last picture looks like a real period snapshot.
I love the tank in the building, and the building. And the idea of making it look “period”. But there’s something about the windows that strikes me as, well, not right. I don’t mean to imply that there is something WRONG, just it looks odd to me. I can’t put my finger on it, nor put into words what I mean.
Am I the only one thinking this? Maybe it’s the B&W photo making me see things funny, I really don’t know.
Taken as a whole, it’s fabulous!

my .02c:
this newest version, I see light coming from too many sources;
if the back inner wall is to have that much light, (seemingly from upper left) I think then, the rightmost wall would be more in a shadow.
And then the windows should have more transparency, esp where there is no glass, since anything behind them is in the light.
Given the position of the Tank, your light source should be from low-mid right- straight towards the tank’s driver leftmost.
Wall behind the tank - light blocked by the right wall will be in shadows, and then the windows wont have to show much.
also it appears you have a light source from the top right, I would nix that.
just go for the right low-mid source, one light source, and if you like, try a white-board or cloth reflector “aimed” (placed) in different spots of the dio, see what that does.
sometimes less light is best. “low key” , esp for B&W, but hey thats just me.
it will be more like the original, but reflect some light on the very back wall, like 1/4 or 1/8th as much, just start to pick out details. should be fun anyway!
To me, it just looks like an overcast day…
I think it looks very realistic. The glare from the remaining glass makes the missing glass areas show almost black the way it may on real film. I forget what the effect is called, but its like “over contrast” or something. The high contrast serves the picture very well. What would be really be cool would be to add some scratches or even the white pencil written decription like I’ve seen on so many period photos of the time.
I did adjust the contrast of the photo I retouched by increasing it…
