there are resin kits available for this kits… Ive seen them for sale on ebay. The sets provide the necessary parts to turn the Monogram B-52D into an H or G model, new nose tail sectoin, ecm blisters etc. cant remeber if it came with a new tail fin or you had to cut the existing one. Ill try and find out more details, who makes it where they’re for sale… and get back to you.
Heres what Ive found so far…

Hello
Thanks for your help
I’ve seen these conversion kits and they say its easier to just get the AMT B-52 because the work involved to mod the monogram one is very difficult plus the wings are different
on the G and H they dont sag as much as the D model.I was just wondering if there was a cockpit detailing kit or maybe the Landing Gear kit or something that will bring out more detail for the D model . Thanks for your help

Hi,
I’m currently working on a B-52D also. The problem is that I can’t find any decal sets for it. Does anyone know of any set for a Vietnam era BUFF?
Thanks.
Hello
I just got the B-52 off Ebay with no decals either
I looked online and the only ones I could find were the ones for the BALLS THREE and BALLS EIGHT versions which were the flight test aircraft . I’m still looking for some decals to. you would figure that for a aircraft that has been in service for over 50 years and went though many changes they would at least have more decal sets out there.but …
goodluck
Microscale did make a set of 1/72 decals for the Monogram kit years ago. It had a couple of Vietnam era color schemes and included some markings from some of the SAC bombing competions (I think I remember one with the outline of Florida on the tail). The owner of the local hobby shop told me that Microscale (or Superscale I guess) is no longer making anything but 1/48 decals, so you will have to hunt around the hobby shops for the old sheet and on ebay. My Detail and Scale books for the B-47 and KC-135 refer to some decals from that set and show it as #72-152.
Back when I built the kit (about 20+ years ago), the Monogram decals for the Vietnam BUFF looked accurate and worked well over the gloss black undersurface. Don’t know how the later versions will work though.
Good Luck!
I built the monogram kit Hmm must have been about 20 years ago! I had to hang it in the laundry room of my parents house because my room was to full! Maybe Ill build it again some day.
