Any suggesions with help finding a replacement part is greatly appreciated.

Bummer…

OR!

For Sale 1/72 B-52 kit missing right wing…cheap

The kit is usually in production, but at this time the Revell site does not show that it is or will be soon. So ordering a replacment part from them is out. So your best choice is to see if another bargain kit can be found online that does have the part you need. Or you can hope that Revell brings the old beast out again ( I know, hope is not a method…)

What a way to start modeling again.

If anyone is needing parts for a Monogram 1/72 B-52…

I’d contact the collector for your money back

AFAIK, the 1/72 B-52 should be hitting the shelves soon. I was aiming at Ebay to get one but decided to wait for this one. It is announced on PDF at Revell.com with a release to be now on 2011.

This is a crop of their PDF document, it will include the X-15.

Kit: 85-5716

Once the B-52 is again in production you should be able to source a replacement part from the mfr. The NB-52’s left wing is modified and the kit wing represents this modification (notch) for the tail of the X-15. Once this kit does hit the streets, prices on eBay and elsewhere will decline to more reasonable levels.

Example: The B-36 was fetching nearly $100 on eBay, then as soon as it was rereleased, its hard to demand such a price when you can purchase a new one off the store shelf for under $40.

The X-15 and all other air vehicles were carried under the RIGHT wing of the B-52, so if he could source the left wing from one of those B-52/X-15 combos, it would work for a replacement.

Bummer, Dude. But, trust me, I know your pain.

Since the B-52 is already scheduled for rerelease, I would go ahead and contact Revell and see if you can get in line to get an early replacement.

Just my 2 cents worth.

As a kid I was always drawn towards the Revell kits vs Monogram.

Unfortunately, I opted for Monogram this time. Should have stuck to instincts…

Hope the guy I’m building this for doesn’t pass before I get this finished…

If you can find the parts, if the price is right I might take it…got a Dale Brown’s “Old Dog” in the works…spare parts are always nice to have.

This seller is parting out a Monogram B-52 kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/Monogram-1-72-Scale-B-52-Kit-8292-Wings-/180659280011?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1021d88b Hope this helps.

Got it! Thanks again!

Try getting the word out at your LHS or look up an IPMS chapter in your area. Some builders become unwitting collectors that would love to get rid of some of their stuff, and helping out with a VFW project would be rewarding. Or you can keep watch on ebay for any 1/72 B52 and use modelers putty to adjust for any differences and gaps. Sorry about your bad bird.
