Wasn’t there someone in our fine community who was producing some aftermarket resin gun turrets for Monogram’s 1/72 B-36? If not, does anyone know if any manufacturer produces aftermarket parts for the B-36?
Thank you!
Eric

I’ve been looking too, haven’t found anything yet.
I have been looking for AM parts for that kit for most of 30 years and the only one that I have found is one sheet of decals by Micro Scale number 72-272. It has markings for a B-36H and an RB-36F.

Thank you Darwin. I’ve been able to locate some decals so that was good. I just could have sworn that I saw pictures posted somewhere once of the turrets done in resin. I’m sure once I finish the kit, that’s when True Details will announce their highly detailed resin parts for the plane. LOL!

Someone posted pictures of their B-36 and they had scratch built at least one turret bay. I would certainly love to see True Details or someone else put out a turret bay set with turrets, elevating mechanism, ammo feeds, etc. A decent bomb bay set would be great also.

That was me, and I actually scratchbuilt all three turret bays. Unfortunately, everything inside them except the turrets was completely wrong! [(-D]
I would really like to try again (yes, I plan to build at least one more of these 1/72 scale monsters), as I have recieved better information and detail pictures on that area. The bays are too shallow, the turrets are too large, and the actuating mechanism isn’t nearly detailed enough.
The thought of actually selling a home-made resin turret bay set has crossed my mind a time or two. Admittedly, the quality wouldn’t be as high as a mainstream manufacturer (and the price would probably reflect this), but is a possibility. I’d need to iron out the logisitics of this, but we’ll see.
So, in a word, the only aftermarket items for the B-36 are a rare set of OOP decals. After that, you need to do it yourself.
(BTW, thanks for giving me an excuse to pull out some old “family pictures”! [;)])
