I thought I’d add some pics of the interior that’s now hidden for anyone interested. They were posted a couple weeks ago, but here they are again, in case you missed 'em.

very nice Pix, will u post it in ARC ? i go there often to built up my interest. I live in small town with no model shop and very limited modellers. so far only 3 i know. I bought one B29 mono years ago, even that i post ordered it from NY in 95. it been sitting ever since in my collection. Hopefully one day i got the guts to handle like u do . Well good inspiration for me now . happy to see your work
erh anyway any suggestion of aftermarket decal for it ? mine turn yellow after years of keeping.
Thanks sentry !
I’m building this kit as an online review at IPMS/USA.

Part 4 hasn’t been added yet, but it will be shortly (it’s already sent, just not posted).
I’ll be sending pics to ARC when it’s done. I have two more builds coming up there at some point (Accurate Miniatures A-36 & IL-2 Stormovik). Steve’s a little behind from his break, and he’s not updating on weekends now. I expect about three more weeks for the AM kits. My Avenger was posted on the 15th.
Aeromaster has decals for Korean War era Superfortresses in 1/48 available. There are new decals with this edition (Hamilton Standard Hydromatic props). I’ll also be using Cutting Edge’s new national markings & prop logos. Check around - there may be Superscale markings, too. Good luck on the kit, when you decide to build it (and make sure you have plenty of room !)
Thanks again !
Ok i will on the look out for it , need to import it from somewhere somehow
i seen your review on your plane it is different from mine , the one i got is enola gay decals
anyway thanks a lot too keep on the work and pics too thanks [:D]
I’ll assume that’s an accumulation of Alclad II acquisitions over the years or months. Otherwise that must have made the sales guys and accountants smile that quarter.
Is that a copy of Life magazine and a pin up girl?!? [bow][bow] It’s looking good, pix! Though, It’s a shame to hide all of that detail…
Thanks sentry, Quagmyre, & shrikes !
Quagmyre - were you to assume that, you would be incorrect. It is two different orders. The first has the white labels on the caps. At $7 a bottle from Squadron, it doesn’t even qualify for free shipping. The $50 order is worth it to me to have a realistic, trouble-free, maskable finish.
shrikes - I found pics on the internet, and downloaded them. I resized them with Photoshop, and printed them on glossy photo paper at 1440 dots/inch. I know that the interior is as completely finished as I can make it. It doesn’t bother me to close the fuselage. I feel compelled to do the best I can, even if it won’t be seen. I’d feel like I was short-changing myself to cut corners & leave things undone. I want the finished bird to look realistic, rather than show what I did to the interior. I know it’s there, and that’s good enough for me. The pics I took will remind me of what’s inside.
Thanks again !
Beautiful Pix.
Thanks woodbeck ! Glad you like it. Not many kits rival this one, if you like painting detail.
What a massive undertaking! Looks good so far, Pix…! Keep up the good work!
She is a looker Pix[8D]
Thad
Thanks dj & Thad !
I’ve built a few of Monogram’s 1/48 2 & 4 engined WW II aircraft in the past, but this is my first (and at this size, likely my only !) B-29. I’m having a lot of fun with it, and I can’t wait to start getting the Alcad on it.
Thanks again !
Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful interior. Can’t wait to see the big bird dressed up.
Looking great so far…seems a shame that so much will be hidden from view in the end though!
Joe Youngerman
man the more i look at that thing the more i want one.
Thanks zokissima, ninedriver, & gunney !
ninedriver - my pleasure comes from doing the work. Even if no one ever sees it, I won’t lose the fun I had building & painting it. Sometimes it’s better to leave the gold hidden, and not rip up the mountain to get at it.
Thanks again !
i might get me one soon they’re pretty cheap at squadron.com
that looks insane…Well done!
Thanks Fiend !
Ironically, it’s immersing myself in the detail that helps me maintain my sanity & focus. [(-D] gunney - the key to this kit is patience. There’s a lot to do, and you need to take care with the seams and scratches on the fuselage and wings to get a good metal finish. All marks and imperfections on the surface really show on a metal finish. It’s a challenge that can be a lot of fun (or frustration).
You know, it makes me wonder what i would find inside your other builds if i had X-ray glasses! hehehe! [:D] Keep us updated, Pix!
