Any idea how much weight I would need to put in the nose to weigh this baby down… BTW I am not interested in buying ready made weights.
Also has anyone ever scratch built a nose gear out of tubing that would be stronger than the plastic gear in the kit???
Thanks

On mine, I superglued about 10 pennies together and made a roll. Then I put them in the nose. Mine was a solid nose strafer so the roll isnt visible. If you have the glass nose version, I would put the weight behind the cockpit bulkhead.

With that big tail, the kit is quite a tail sitter without weight. It’s probably going to take a lot of weight to get it to sit on the nose gear.
Making a new landing gear leg out of tubing would be tough. I don’t know of any aftermarket landing gear sets for that kit either.

Terry Dean makes nose weights designed for that kit. Here’s a link to a review.
