B-25H in Navy or USMC service?

Tom,

Glad to see you are sill watching for news concerning the PBJ-1s. How is the build going on the PBJ-1D? Was George Bartlett able to provide you with any assistance on his experience with the aircraft?

Looking forward to having a photo of the completed PBJ-1D to place on our website.

Excellent point about the replica of 02344 at WPAFB. Most people don’t know that it is not really a B-25B.

Robert:
I’ll answer quickly since nobody knows what we’re talking about.
The AM PBJ-1D conversion is officially on hold pending completion of this blasted Trumpeter 1/24 scale Spitfish. Editor’s decision. However, the PBJ is still on the schedule and I sneak a little work on it here and there, and did this morning in fact. So it’s coming.
For everyone planning to get an AcMin B-25C/D, for some reason they’ve listed it now as out of production, so if you can still get your hands on one, and want it, get it now.
TOM

AH1Wsnake,
Is this the Devil Dog you saw? I took these at the Wings Over Houston in 04

That is the one, Eddie.
Sharkskin, by the way, the PBJ article you mentioned you are working on…will it be appearing in FSM or another history-type magazine?

With the advent of obscure aircraft being kitted now from WWII some that few really paid attention to like the Fairy Swordfish, Vindicator, A-36 Apache, Seiran etc. Still not too much on the USN/USMC multi engined aircraft used in this period. Though Italeri did sort of make a 72nd PBJ-1D like the one below:

And Academy does offer a 72nd scale PB4-Y Liberator, and also Matchboxes old Privateer. But still it is a much neglected subject which I would like to see some of these variants come to some sort of modern kit form. Though we do have Kosters Privateer conversion set for Monograms B-24. And yes we can convert one of Acc Min to a USMC PBJ with some patience. Still it would be something nice to add to the USN./USMC side. What may be a hindrance as some have already mentioned in this thread is the lack of information and photographs of these aircraft. They are really hard to come by. We could probably say is something to look forward too. Semper Fi

Well… I know that there is a B-25 version called PBJ-1( )… between ( ) you can put any letter according with the normal B-25, from A to D, I know that Italeri used to make a PBJ-1D, equivalent to B-25D, but I don’t know if PBJ-1H exists…
