B-25G/H Help......

Can anyone direct me to some good interior pics/plans of a B-25H and/or G? I swear, finding good interior references for these 75mm cannon-equipped birds are proving difficult for me to find. Thanks…

BUMP!

You are right about details of the interior of the cannon armed B-25’s are hard to find. Bert Kinzey has good pictures of the cockpit in the B-25 Detail and Scale, page 57. I have a Dec 1972 Air Classics that has an exploded black and white drawing of a B-25 H. My scanner isn’t working or I would E-mail it to you. Also have a color “see through” drawing showing the interior of the B-25 H by Reynold Brown which is in Wings Issue, June 1972. One detail I found in a real B-25 at an Airshow years ago was the "gunner"s seat attached to the right side of the “well” actually facing aft. It had a fold down back also. The B-25 crew ignored my comments about my Dad working on them until I mention their “rare” seat. Then they became all ears!

Thanks for replying. It’s too bad your scanner is down. Sounds like you have the sort of references I need. That’s really interesting about the seat. Admittedly, I didn’t know that. Well, thanks anyway…

I can maybe copy them and “snail” mail them if you haven’t had any other luck with finding any other material. E-mail me if that’s what you want to do.

Anyone have any good interior pics of the B-25J?

Necro,go to page 9 on the aircraft forum and look for Instrument panel ref.site by Hooker06 for the cocpit details for your b-25.Digger

Thanks for the quick response. Any pics of the waist positions?

One more question for now. Anyone have any good suggestions for scratch-building 1/48 scale machine gun ammo belts?

Actual MG belts (belted ammo) or the metal feed chutes ammo belts passed through? Feed chutes can be a real bear, might want to check the Monogram Huey Hog.

Hint to any manufacturers reading this: I wish someone would make feed chute stock in a flexible plastic compatible with styrene cement.

Getting ready to start my own B-25G (Accurate Miniatures, real sweetheart of a kit), and am having the same problem, even though they built over 400 of them, all converted from B-25C’s right there at the West Coast factory. The G can quickly be distinguished from the H model by the location of the upper turret. On the G, and all B-25’s before it, the turret is located toward the rear, but on the H and J models, the top turret is located just about even with the leading edge of the wing. I’m working on converting one of the AcMin B-25’s into a Navy or Marine Corps PBJ-1, and was going to do a -1G, until I learned they only made one of them, and it never saw combat. So my new aim is a conversion to a PBJ-1C/D or J. AcMin is soon to come out with conversion parts for some of these, but not all.
I’ll try to find you some links for your B-25.
OK, here she blows:

If you can’t pull any details off this big stack of photos (click to enlarge), then you need a microscope.[;)]
Best of luck.

Awesome link, Tom. It went into the “B-25” folder in my browser favorites.

Warbird Tech Vol 12 on the B-25 has some excellant drawings and interior shots.Their taken out of the maintenance manual, and the B-25G/H is covered.
