B-25 Progress...

Was gonna put this in the other thread, but it got hijacked by some guy named BlackWolf, so here’s a new string…

Haven’t done a whole lot on this thing so far besides the scribing and putting the interior together and all that. I guess that happens when you juggle several kits at once. Anyhoo, here’s the cockpit as it stands now:

I’m building this kit SOB as much as possible. Wherever it looks like I absolutely need to add something I will but, for the most part, this kit it quite sufficient. Gotta love the 'ole Monogram Mediums…

Th only thing I added here was a bit of detail on the center console because it had NUTHIN’. A buncha the switches I put on that console are now gone; victims of some enthusiastic drybrushing, and they were quite fragile I guess. (Imagine that) So I may or may not replace them, we’ll see. Won’t be able to see an awful lot in there anyway, once it’s buttoned up.

I have more detail painting to do on this. I also have to add a bit more detail, especially some switches here and there on the panel itself. Drilled the holes, but hadn’t added them. I was in a rush to get paint on this thing and decided to leave 'em off until after, which is now looking like a smart move; otherwise they may have gone bye-bye with the other ones. I dunno why I should add them though because, again, it won’t be too visible. I guess I’m just a stubborn SOB…

Oh yeah, almost forgot… The throttles and such, for the most part, are just plain not there, so I’ll have to add some of those in. Wasn’t going to but, for me, it’s irresistable and must be done. Just looks barren otherwise…

Fade to Black…

Looking good, Blackwolf. Is that Monogram’s “B” model or the “J”?

Hey Steve,
MAN… that looks very familuar also…[:p] The photo does not do it justice. One of these days I may just have to do one myself.
Flaps up, Mike

THANKS MAN!!!

What? Build a B-25 or take a picture to post on the net? [;)][;)][;)]

IT’S JUST A JOKE!!! 'Yer s’pos’da laff…

Fade to Black…

Thanks, guy, it’s a recent Revell boxing of Monogram’s B-25J glass-nose.

I’m still at a crossroads as to the markings, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a ship from the 340th BG. There’s many I’d like to do, but I think it’s down to either ‘Briefing Time’ or ‘MMR’. No matter which I choose, I’m going to have to scrounge the markings and make some custom decals, more than likely…

Fade to Black…

Nice work on the Office. The Instrument Panel is pretty darn impressive.

Regards, Rick

steve looking good. with the additions should be outstanding.

Pro job, Steve-o!

steve, great start to an excellent bird friend. thanks for the peek. later.

Wicked looking cockpit Steve-- makes me want to climb in and start engines!

Awesome job on that cockpit!

Looking good, Steve!! Thanks!

Take care,
Frank

Thanks guys!

Unlike the MiG-3, this one is lookin’ real nice and Butz has it right; the crap pictures don’t do it justice. I’m really happy with the way this one’s turning out so far…

Will keep the shots comin’ so long as there’s something to shoot…

Fade to Black…

Very nice, too bad about the switches, but I didn’t notice that they were missing. Don’t worry too much about replacing them. Keep up your usual excellent work.

Very nice indeed. I just finished a Monogram B-25 this month. Hand painted the noseart and made custom decals since this plane went to a ex crewchief for the 321st BG. Despite fit problems, this has always been a fun model to build.

Thats a very nice looking cockpit. The detail painting is very clean and crisp. What kind of paints did you use?

Say, you’re pretty handy with the plastic ‘n’ paint there, Mr. Wolf!
And don’t you let ‘em tell ya nuthin’ diffrent!

Looking forward to keeping up with the progress on this one.

You sir are a steely eyed modeling madman.

Can I come and play at the B & B sessions? Maybe I would get something done then. [:D]

Great detailing there Blackwolf. Did you paint the details using combined drybrushing to get the raised details and needle brushes for the instrument details? I have the same kit (I think) on the shelf 1/48 Revell-Monogram B-25J that I will soon start once I complete my renovations. I’m not too fond of the decs that came with her nor the way it suggests painting…I may do a desert style camo green over tan but then I am stuck with using the decs from the kit…just won’t look right. Any suggestions other than making a custom set!

Thanks…I look forward to watching your progress, I may be able to use your knowledge to help me with mine…

Hello Steve:
Your right about the Monogram kits despite their age. Plenty of detail through out that B-25. Didn’t even notice the switches, or details missing on the console. What color did you use for the interior, Dark Dull Green or Bronze Green? And wow your picking up the pace. Mig-3 this plane. Good to see some nice work.
