I just thought I would let those who are interested know that the Calgary Aerospace Museum is hosting “Miss Mitchell” a WW2 veteran B-25J.

Cool Jay, wish I could go but that darn work thing keeps getting in the way. The Abbottsford airshow is this weekend too but alas it is not to be! [sigh][:(]
This plane was here at the local airport for our little show about a month ago. I took a ton of reference pics and talked to the pilot for a while. Nice guy who will give anyone who listens a no bul**hiter about trying to fight the FAA to keep the warbirds flying. Most folks don’t know how close we are to never seeing airworthy, flying warbirds in the future. Before long they may be relegated to museums.
For anyone interested this is a “working” plane. They give rides for the right money but I forget the exact price. IIRC, $350 would get you 20 mins or a half hour. If I’d have had another $70 in my pocket that day I’d have had my ride. They actually took off for a flight during the show, returning some time later while the ground personel made a path for the plane to taxi back into the static display.
Im excited for the visit of ‘Miss Mitchell’ next week. I can’t wait. I’ll be there with a fresh SD card and a back-up set of batteries.
Geeze, I spend what seems like everyday of my life at that airport, though I’m getting sent up north for a quick 3 day to put some equipment on an airplane for a contract, I bet you can guess which three days those are… Good thing I went down to Lethbridge and saw it there though unfortunatly it didn’t fly that day because of some cylinder problems, with any luck it’ll be there Thursday Morning, maybe I can hear it run with any luck.
