Im looking for info on markings and pictures (if any) for B-17G with no 42-38008, named "888" that served with 306th BG/367th BS. It crashed at sea after a raid on Berlin 1944-005-08. Im building the Revell 1/48 kit for a guy who has dived on the wreck and wants a model for his bookshelf. So far I havn`t found much but maybe someone here has some more info.
Happy holidays[:D]
Go to heavybombers.com. They should have some info on the group, and maybe a contact for either the wing, group, or a squadron. Take care. They also have addresses for the U.S. AIr Force historical, and research center. Either the A.F Historical, research center, or one of the contacts should help you out in providing , or finding a photo. Good Luck.

I just googled the serial and they had pics of her submerged. She looks in remarkable condition for being underwater nearly seventy years. The crew called her “Clay Pigeon” and she appeared to be in the OD green over gray scheme. You could get the squadron codes from the 306th BG website and ask if any of their surviving members or their Group historian has any info.
Best of luck and keep us posted with your findings
