I dedicated this Revell B-17G to the crew of Tailwind, which went down northwest of Berlin on 9/12/1944 (6 KIA, 3 POW). The model was not too hard to build, but the “spinning” props were a real learning experience. After much trial and error clear plastic discs, the “spin blur” function in Photoshop and clear plastic label stock produced the desired results. Full disclosure: the supports used to hold the prop discs up off the background (a light blue U-Haul furniture blanket) were PhotoShopped out of the image and some clouds were added. The model itself was not PhotoShopped. The aircraft, piloted by Lt John Sasser, was assigned to the 368th Bomb Squadron, 306th Bomb Group.
