Hello fellas, i have a B-17 in 1/48 that i dont like that much and i was wondering about doing something different… i thought about doing a formation aircraft but i havent been able to find any good pic but one showing a B-17 with what i believe is black and white stripes, so i would really appreciate any help you could provide. Im not going to be much help to ya since Im at school and my books are at home but Ive got some book somewhere that has a pic of a B-17 formation AC that has red and white stripes running the entire length of the plane. Ive got to go home this weekend for some stuff so while Im there Ill look for it. Im not sure but I believe the name of the aircraft was Birmingham Blitzkrieg and it was a B-17E.
There was an article in a recent IPMS Journal with this plane but think the stripes are red and white.

I’ve seen photos as well of the striped Fortress. I’ll check my sources to see if I can find some further information.
