B-1 paint job?

Hello,
I have just completed my 1/144 B-1 and was woundering what color i should paint it. So I think all ask some of you. So what do you say? How should i paint it. Maybe an overall gray or should i do a slight camo schem?
Thank you,

Try this link, scroll down to the B-1, it has two paint schemes for the B-1B w/ FS color references.

And here’s another to AirForce LInk for photos of the B-1B, most are large/hi res.

Personally, I’ve always been fond of the overall FS36118 Gunship Gray. [2c]

I agree about gunship gray. The old European lizard scheme the B-1 wore was not modeler-friendly. Like sloppy invasion stripes, when done accurately on a model it’s often hard to tell if the modeler is brilliant or incompetent.

Having built this in 48 scale some years ago in the ‘Lizard Scheme’ and AM decals, [most reluctently recently sold], it’s the modeller’s choice as to the cammo or grey scheme.

i think i will go with gunship gray seen how i already have it. So thank you for the help.

I bought the 1/72 nd model and sort of rebelled at the idea of such bland colorings. So I am thinking about a “what if” paint scheme, say a WWIII scenario with US Navy-style markings from the’60’s, or maybe camouflage paint schemes. This hobby is supposed to be fun, so do whatever makes you happy. Besides, think of all the funny looks you’ll get from people when called upon to explain the paint scheme!!

go to a hobby store and look for the color air mobility command grey (AMC grey). That is the actual color of B1 in service.
