B-1 bomber in 1/72 scale?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if the B-1 is available in 1/72 or if it’s out of production. I built one (Monogram???) back in the early/mid 1980s but I don’t know if I’ve seen one since.

Thanks!

Eric

It’s been reissued a few times but I think it’s currently OOP. You should still be able to find one, but it will take some looking.

Regards, Rick

I’ve seen it (and the 1/48 version) on shelves here in Japan.

Did the 1/48 version , but did see the B-1A aifix kit last week in 1/72

Theres one on Epay right now!

There’s one or two in my LHS… not quite sure which brand though.

I remember that internet hobbies has a couple of Panda Models’ B-1B’s on 1/144. Nothing on 1/72.

Both Airfix and Monogram do one in 72 scale and they aren’t hard to find. They appear quite frequently on ebay and can be had for a decent price.

Stay away from the Airfix kit, it’s the B-1 prototype and the shape is way wrong for a production B-1B

There are a couple listed on EvilBay right now, I just picked a 1/72 Monogram B-1B Lancer for $23.00. There are several others listed, including a 1:48 [:D] B-1B that I am thinking about. Will have to be discreet; if the wife sees one THAT big, she’ll consign me and it to the garage!

Just picked up a B-1A in 1/144 from Minicraft. Haven’t had a chance to start it yet, but it’s on the list.

there’s one selling at www.squadron.com for around 49 or 50 bucks.
1/72 airfix kit.
sigh, what I would give for that model… wait, maybe 50 bucks with s/h![|)]
I’d rather have a whopping 1/48 scale one.
I’m gonna look for it when I go to ROK over summer and buy it 4 cheap!

Jini,
DON’T buy the Airfix kit!!! Get the Monogram and a copy of FSM from awhile back that has the one Boyer did. Thats the way to go.
