Avro Anson - Please Help!

Greetings

A mate of mine is busy with the Classic Airframes Avro Anson kit which he is doing in the scheme that his dad flew in the war. One little problem is that he has an actual photograph of his dad flying an Anson and there seems to be a white circle just in front of the cockpit. We have tried to find out what this is but can find no reference to such a marking. We seem to think that it might have been a gas detection panel but are not sure. If anyone out there knows what this is, we would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers

There is a forum member named modelmaker that actually has an Avro Anson in his shed believe it or not. Mabye a private PM might help you out. He also gave me a couple of links to some pics of his 1/1 scale project. Here they are. Ok apparently things have changed since six months ago when I clicked on this link. It appears he is into alot of other projects also. You might be better of just sending him a PM. I know he has some nice interior photos on his site. I just can not find them. I should have downloaded them and saved them at the time. Goood luck.

You are probably looking at a black and white photo, the circle was a light jellow color and is indeed a gas detection patch.

Sorry should be yellow not jellow

Hey guys I just picked up on this Sorry for the late reply !! Soulcrusher I took the pics of my Anson project off my site as I didn’t get anymore of a response with them and They didn’t really relate to what the sight is all about, See I’m a professional modelmaker and the sight is suppose to be dedicated only to my modelmaking .

If you guys want photos send me a PM with you email addresses attached and I’ll scan and send them to you .

Arthur I’d also be very interested to see this photo you mention ??

Cheers
