Avionix, Black Box, or Aires?

I realize that there are 2 or 3 out there…but which is the best for the money?

If I have to a perform a little bit of adjustment to a $35.00 AM 'pit, vs. nothing for a $50-60 kit. I would prefer the $35.00 kit.

Please help. I picked up a Revellogram 1/48 EA-6B for $29.00 at the show in Madison…but I would like to get a better ‘office’ for it.

Oh, and any advice regarding the wings, ( read that Revellogram kit just used the regular A-6 wings on the EA-6B kit.), would be a great help to.

I used a Black box cockpit in the EA-6B a few years ago, fit without too much trouble (just the usual grinding away of exess resin and plastic). As for the wings - yup - they used the wings from an A-6 so you have some work to do to correct them. Mainly moving the wing fold and as a result changing the size / shape of the control surfaces and panels. Not really too hard to do if you leave the wing in the open position.

Guess I’m gonna have to poke around for info & comparison photos regarding the wings.

Anyone else familiar with the Black Box office, or have any experience with the Aires office?

Get a copy of the Detail and Scale book on the Prowler. It will help you get the wings corrected.

Wanting an aftermarket office for the EA-6B.

Which manufacturer produces a better product?

Aires has 2, a ‘late’ and ‘early’ version…what’s the difference?

The Avionix and Black Box cockpits are the same. Sorry I dont know the differences between the Aires Sets.

That’s what I was thinking about those 2, but wasn’t sure. Is it a case of one buying out the other, or just a renaming of the company?
