I’m thinking of getting the 1:32 trumpeter avenger kit and i’m woundering how it compares to the accurate minitures version ? Are there any "generic "points on the trumpeter kit ? I’m hoping its not a case of bigger is better.
Any related comments or sugestions are most appreciated !
Thanks in advance guys and as always Happy modeling ! …Peter .[:)]
If your hearts not set on the 32nd scale; I’ve heard some really great things about the Accurate Miniatures offerings. They’re 48th scale but I’ve heard they’re real gems and the one I have looks awesome in the box. Haven’t heard much about the Trumpeter yet.
I will stick with the Accurate kits, 30 bucks or less for 1/48 vrs 79+ for 1/32 I just wont begin to justify the switch to 1/32. Any way good thing for me is I model in 1/48th only.
Having built the AM set, I can say it is WELL worth the money. Probably the most fun kit I have built to date, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of their offererings.
The Accurate Miniatures Avenger kits are among the finest kits ever produced in 1/48 scale. I haven’t tried the Trumpeter 1/32 kit, so can’t compare them.
agree with what everyone else says. Accurate miniatures hands down! I loved building mine and the best part is their website comes with an on-line build to help out, very useful.
Concerning the 1/32 Trumpeter kit. I read a few reviews and it’s pretty well being described as the best Trumpeter plane model released so far. Here’s a couple of them:
Interesting how a couple of reviews have mentioned that its a very complex and/or complicated model to build but goes together extremely well. Another reviewer felt the main tires looked to thin to him and I see there are now resin versions available.
I was planning on getting the Accurate Miniatures but now I’m starting to think the Trumpeter kit may be the way to go.
Yes!! Kudos for the AM kits. I just started building an AM Avenger and it’s nice. I also have the AM B-25 and SBD-5 waiting on the shelf. I’ve built a couple other AM kits and was impressed with the quality. All of these are 1/48.
I havent built this plane in any scale , but the deciding factor for me would be my eyes. It just seems that when I turned 40, it was harder for me to see the parts in the smaller scales. I would like to build the 1/32 Avenger sometime in the near future, though. Thanks

I haven’t started it yet but I have the SDB-5 from AM. I’ve looked it over several
times and it looks like it will be a fun, highly detailed build. I’d recommend it.

I was looking at Avengers for the young guns GB 2. They have both Trumpeter Avenger models at my local shop, and to be honest they are a bit outside my budget. From all the kind words here, I think I’ll pay shipping and get the Accurate Miniatures.
I tout the AM kits so much, that I’m sure some guys think I work for the company. However, in my humble opinion, the Avenger and the Dauntless just don’t get any better than the AM offering. I mean it’s just like they shrunk the real thing down to 1/48. I’m sorry but I haven’t built the Trumpeter kit, but from what Iv’e read and see it looks very, very good. One things for sure, a 1/32 Avenger is going to be one huge bird, which is definitely gonna take up some shelf space.
Here’s my two AM kits that I couldn’t be happier with.
