Autoblinda 41 - Italian Armored Car finished

Here’s 2 pics of my Italeri 1/48 Autoblinda 41. This was built for the 1/48 Armor Group build, drop by if you are interested and join us! If you want to see more pictures (with in build photos), you can go on my website page http://waihobbies.wkhc.net/ab41.html. Comments and critique welcomed.

Very nice. I really do like it. Keep it up.

Joe

when I try to open up the pics, just get the dreaded red X…

Excellent build [tup]. I’ve been trying to find the Tamiya boxing of this kit, but apparently Tamiya recalled them due to the plastic used in the molding.

Italeri now shows a Puma as a future release, which would make an interesting companion vehicle.

Regards, Rick

Joe, thanks.

Wirraway, not sure what happened, but its working now.

Rick, that’s interesting, I didn’t hear about the recall. I got mine via the SuperModel boxing with the CR.42. If you want the plane anyway, it’s way cheaper to get the kit than the Tamiya one.

wirraway, I cant see them either. Perhaps its our browsers…

Nicely done! I can see the pics in the post but when clicking on them to see the full size pic, that results in the red X…I think that’s the first time I’ve ever encountered that particular problem here at least. I’m using IE 7 as my browser.

Okay, problem fixed. seemed like I typed in the slashes backwards, it took them, but behaves erratically, I couldn’t see the pictures in firefox (usually use IE 7). Sorry about that.

Checked out your pictures on your website and am impressed. It looks like 1/35 to me. Look forward to some more of your builds…

I love it, great work, great finish, I love these Italian vehicles. I just might join the 1/48th G.B.

I’ll pop by some time .

Again Great work.

Regards,

Terry.

Disaster, thanks for your comments. I checked out your BT7, what a great build, as everyone said on that thread, the weathering is just fantastic. I’ve only started building armor recently, and for some reason I’ve been fascinated on creating a good rust finish. Your BT7 is definitely reference material for me in terms of what one can achieve.

Terry, do drop by the GB. I love the look of this particular Italian armor too, those tricolors sure do make them more interesting than the usual gray or tan.

WOW, man, it seriously doesn’t get much better than this!

A beautiful model; great paint and weathering!

Perfect!

Stunning Autoblinda, waikong!!! Just plain stunning, especially love the Italian flag decals.[tup][8D] By the way, I didn’t forget about my Bren carrier I’m still building for your GB. I might be able to finish it in the next few days, since I just have to paint and weather the tarps and guns. Hopefully no problems will arise.[:)]

Doog, thanks for your praise, I’ve know the high level of work you do, so thanks again.

Mg! Can’t wait to see you finish the Bren - epecially with all the work in put into improving the tracks & suspension.

[tup]WOW that is a great one and it’s 1/48th to boot.

Amazing build

Tony the Mutt

Waikong, that looks great. Will I be seeing it up close and personal in a few weeks[:-^]

thats a cool looking build.

Gentlemen, Thanks for the comments.

Marc, yes, I’m planning to bring that to mosquitocon. Gotta pump up the interest in 1/48 armor! The 1st time I bought some in, I was the only entry. last year, there were maybe 5 altogether, would love to see it pass double digit this year.

Nice work!

The paint and decals really look nice.

Did you do anything special with the vinyl tires for this thing? Did you base coat them with anything before weathering?

Thanks for your comments, I was a bit surprised when I got an update on this thread as it’s from 2 years ago.

I didn’t do anything special for the vinyl tires, I did give everything an overall flat coat before adding pigments to the tires though. That gave the pigments a better surface to stick to.
