Here are the latest pictures of my Diorama/Photography base I just took a few minutes ago.
In these two pictures are the most recent additions to my project, a Messerschmitt factory style building and two slightly damaged wingless Bf 109s, one of the Bf 109s is an early G model that is marked as it would have been operated by a fighter school, the other Bf 109 is a late war K.
The next thing I am building will be a hanger so the two Bf 109s will look more at home.
I did not have time today to take any pictures that included figures, I was running out of daylight. In two more weeks the hanger may be finished which will allow more time for taking better pictures that include figures.

The Bf 109 was one of the few airplanes that could stay on its main gear minus the wings. I agree they look strange, but I wanted to do something a little different than what other modelers have done.
I am thinking about doing a photo/diorama using the planes in my pictures and a U.S. Army jeep and some U.S. troops in a diorama about U.S. troops capturing a Luftwaffe airfield near the end of the war. What do you think?

Hey Matrixone! Go for it .A photo /diorama would be a great idea.I am also looking into persuing the photo/diorama as a whole new artform.I always found that the pics I took appealed to me more than my actual diorama.So many angles to choose from.What to leave in and what to leave out.Very creative stuff.When you put your airplanes in the hangar may I suggest that you show the wings being attached to the aircraft with wires and hoses etc… hanging out of the wing root .You could do sort of a mini-diorama within the diorama telling the story of how a wing is attached to an airplane.Just a suggestion.Love the pics.Cheers! I wanted to add a bit more detail to the wing roots on the wingless 109s but in 1/72 scale the plumbing would be so tiny it would be tough to see, also I intended the damaged 109s to be for the background effect anyway. The wings of those planes will be making appearences from time to time, they will be in damaged condition.
The idea of making a photo/diorama about U.S. ground forces taking over a Luftwaffe airbase is a possibility, I already have a 1/72 scale jeep that came with the Academy Kettenkrad and Kubelwagon. I just need the troops and time to put this all together.
