Aufklarungspanzer 140/1

Here are some progress photos of a Light German Recon vehicle; only 50 were
produced in early 1944. It was a Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) chassis with a new substructure
which was mounted a 2cm Haengelafette 38 turret ( one used on the Puma ).
The kit is from VM of Russia and has minor fit problems that can be seen in the
photo below. I picked this kit up at the Richmond IPMS show and am thinking of
doing a winter scene. So anyone with snow experience will be much appreciated!

I added a radio and details in the interior compartment complements of AFV Interior photos.

Thanks for looking, Dan[^]

looks interesting…

Lookin good so far, keep the pics coming Nick!

Nice build going Dan … very clean.

The added details are a nice touch too.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Looking good. Looks like you added quite a few extra details. Of course you are going to have to post lots of pics when you are done.

Would you recommend this kit? I was actually thinking of making this particular vehicle, but was not sure if I should convert a kit, or trust a Russian manufacturer.

wow that looks great
VM of Russia. what else do they make

awesome. cant wait to see the finished product.

Looks like this is a vast improvement on the Maquette version. That one is a nightmare to put together, none of the armour panels are correct sizes, etc. You have done a great job with this one so far.

The turret is actually off the 234/1 not 234/2 ‘Puma’ (the Puma had a 5 cm gun[:P][:)]) but we know what you meant. Interesting to see the radio was in the hull of the 140/1 because they slung it under the gun supports between the seats on the 234/1.

A friend of mine picked up a Polish publication from a guy selling off his collection of kits and books at our club meeting Saturday - he bought the maquette version of the 140/1. I had a flick through it and saw it has a heap more pics of the 140/1 than I have ever seen before. It has the basic side view and front 3/4 view that have been published, but also the other pics that seem to be taken at the same time. I can’t remember if it has any detail pics though.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Great as always, Dan. Those details surely put more life into it.

Looking Great
Lots of little details

Great progress so far. I can’t wait to see it finished. Thanks for posting the pictures Dan.
