Just seen a Great movie called ‘Dark Blue World.’ For Spitfire fans this is a must see. The story is about Czech pilots flying for the RAF during WWII. Lots of great flying, on par with ‘Pearl Harbor’ and if you look close you can even see the Mephis Bell. (they used a piece of cut-in footage from that movie.) The movie is a foriegn language film, the Czechs speak their own language and the English speak theirs, and for us it’s subtilted. [:D]
Great flying, some good detail shots, and a half way deceint story line. Check it out.
chasblake99 hi[:)]
glad you liked the movie!! i saw it a while back, although i was given an early heads up by my girlfriend about the film as she is from prague, czech republic, and it was quite big news there when the film first came out.[:)]
although there’s a few technical inaccuracies, i think everyone but the most pedantic of rivet counters will enjoy the film.
hope other people here on the forums watch and enjoy the film.[:)]
regards,
nick
Saw it advertised years ago when it was first released; matter of fact I think Air Classics had a few small articles about the film as well as some European rags. Got all excited about it, but never did see it… [:(]
It’s well woth getting the DVD - there are loads of superb extras including footage of the full size Spits as well as the usual backstage stuff.
The bit on how a Spitfire was crashed is just excellent.
