Attaching fuselage ribs to a 1/72 Nieuport

I’m converting the Eduard Nieuport 17 to an N27 and was trying to figure out how to glue the ribs to the fuselage. I’m going to use streched sprue, but I’m unsure how to attach it. Liquid cement maybe? I know if I tried my usual super glue, it’d end up a mess. Here’s a pic of the HR Resin 1/72 Nieuport 24 to show what the ribs should look like (picture from Roll Models review site)

Any thoughts?

I’m not sure it is possible to do it cleanly, and it will not be easy in any way. I’ve tried to add ribs on one wing of my Ilya Muromets 1/72 (I’ve lost somehow, I can’t even imagine how, the original wing, so I’ve had to cut a new one), and though I’ve used a number of different techniques - very carefully liquid cement on sprue, CA with fishing line, et cetera (could afford to - I could make a new wing any time), I wasn’t satisfied with any result.

In the end, I’ve simply scribed ribs with my swann crafting blade, somewhat lifting the plastic, and after painting, no one I’ve asked could discern right wing from left wing. Had to use putty to fill the cuts, though - I’ve cut it too deep the first time.

Welcome to the boards, Steven!

I think the easiest way to do it may be, when you stretch the sprue, let it cool on the fuselage half. That way, you’ll conform the sprue to the correct curvature. Then take a glue like tenax 7r, and put a drop between the sprue and the fuselage. Capillary action should help the glue seep between the two pieces and give you a strong bond, minus the mess. Then cut the excess sprue and finish the edges.
