Atlantis Kit

Hi.

I’m venturing out of the aircraft forum hoping for a bit of advice. I’m planning on building the shuttle Atlantis as a Christmas gift. So far the only kit I’ve come across is this one at squadron:

I haven’t done much research, and I don’t have any experience outside of auto’s & WWII planes so I was hoping to get some help on cutting the learning curve.

Is the kit above worth the time? Does anyone have another recommendation on a kit and/or AM parts & decals? Any help would be appreciated.

edit:
The Scale, Manufacturer, and other details are of no concern for me. I’m just looking for something I could crank out in 3 months and look pretty good.

Revell makes a monster Shuttle kit (1/72 I think) and it should have the Atlantis decals with it.

Yes, the Revell 1/72 shuttle does have Atlantis decals with it (i’m currently working on the beast now). If you go to Real Space models, they even have resin detail kits available for the cargo bay, bay doors and other cool detail items.
You can get decal sets for the shuttle there also.
Good luck!
