Does anyone happen to know is the German Artilleriewagen train was used against the Americans in France or anywhere there would have been an American advance?
The Heavy Scout Car (Artillerywagen) did not enter service until November of 1944. Together with the Command Cars, Infantry Cars, Anti-Aircraft Gun Cars and Engineer Cars, they formed a Heavy Scout Train. These were used in Russia and the Balkans for track security and anti-partisan use. Although there were at least 3 armored trains, (#22, 25 and 31), which were in France in 1944, they were not of this type.
The s.SP (Schwerer SchienenPanzer) were used extensivly in the Balkans. As the railbeds could not handle the weight of a standard Armored Train (BP42/BP44) I am making a s.SP Armored Train using two Kommandowagens, four Infantriewagens, four Artilleriewagens, two Flakwagens, two Panzertragerwagens, two PanzerJägerwagens and one PanzerJäger Triebwagen. About 14 feet of train.

PS I hope the picture helps identify some of the items on the s.SP wagen
