Just heard he died this morning in Sri Lanka.
I wept when I read the news.
His way of rational thinking, particularly in the essay collection “Report on Planet Three” had a profound effect on my own critical thinking skills.
His death is a genuine loss.

I first got into sci-fi in junior high. Clarke, Asimov, and Heinlein were always 3 of my favorite authors.
A true master - I read dozens his books & stories while in college. He truly raised the bar on sci-fi writing. He will be missed.
Agreed.
A truly prolific writer and thinker has been lost. My last read of Clarke’s was The Light of Other Days, which gave me pause and cause to think deeply.
