Okay, I have posted in armor, helicopters, figures, and now I shall post here. the last model ship that i have built was the old Revell kit of the Uss Arizona in about 1972. I dont remember much of the kit, but now I am stymied. I bought the kit of the Arromanches about 6 months ago to go with my Indochina war themed kits. I have no idea what detail kits to use or where to even start. It sits on my shelf, and mocks me! Any and all ideas will be more than welcome.
Sorry, steelrudi, a couple of searches on Google turned articles about building the kit, but none of them referred to using any aftermarket supplies made specifically for it. I can only think of getting a generic brass kit and scrounging it for anything that can be adapted or used, as-is. Tom’s Modelworks, for example, makes some sets that are just generic, like “1/350 3-Rail set”, and “US Navy Doors & Hatches”. That might be the most expedient way.
Good luck!
Don’t limit yourself to 1:350 scale items. They are 12.5% too large for the 1:400 scale Heller kit. Check the 1:400 scale offerings from L’Arsenal.

They can get you many of the details in scale, as well as the airwing.
Or perhaps you should look at the White Ensign 1:400 scale frets for the HMS Illustrious

While not the same class as the Arromanches, many of the fittings would also work. WEM is also working on a fret for the HMS Collossus, which is of the same class as the Arromanches.
