it’s like the dora, but with tracks instead of rails [:o]
No guesses yet? Too modern to be German, who else would make such a monster?
the chassie looks like a kv-1. is this a joke? it looks like a picture, or a painting because there is a seam in the gun.
maybe you should post something else if no one can get it, it seems you have stumped everyone. [:D]
one last guess though:
203mm self-propelled gun m1975 (2s7)
No, this isn’t a joke, but it sure looks like it could be. The seam on the right side of the photo is from the centerline fold in the magazine from which I took the picture. Give up? Well t3488g, you were on the right track. This is the SU-310, Soviet superheavy, rocket-assisted, 310mm artillery piece, taken outside the Artillery, Engineers and Signals Museum in St. Petersberg. If this isn’t big enough for you, there is also a 410mm piece that looks just like it! You’re probably not going to find this in very many books, if any. I’ll be back just as soon as I scan in the next Mystery Vehicle!?!
OK, you folks thought that last one was weird? Well, try to figure out what this thing is:
And no, I didn’t chop it up in Photoshop.
No idea what that is, but here are some pix of a full scratchbuild done by local Osakan modeler Akira Yoshimoto of the 2A3 406mm SPG that looks a lot like that previous Soviet piece. This model won the grand prize at The 16th Armour Modeller’s Conference in Kansai.
Here’s the link:

And here’s a quick pic:
the russian gun is outside a musium in Moscow its a bit like the atom gun the US had
J-Hulk, According to Military Modelcraft International, the magazine from which I obtained this info, the model would be the “SU-410mm” thingy, or so they called it. 406, 410? ah, what’s 4mm when you have a schwanz this big, eh? I don’t really know what this thing REALLY is. 2A3? OK, sounds good to me!
I dunno either, Peridixion!
That’s just what Mr. Yoshimoto calls it. Actually, in the Japanese text it says: “2A3/#12467;#12531;#12487;#12531;#12469;#12488;#12540;2P 406mm”
(can ya’ll see that?), or: 2A3/ Kondensato 2P 406mm."
“Kondensato” is from the Japanese Katakana, so I have no idea of the actual spelling.
But what a big gun!
It really is a beautiful model, little wonder he took the grand prize. Notice how much the color changes in the 3 photos in the link you posted, all due to changes in lighting. Something we all need to keep in mind, not only as we build them, but also as they are displayed and photographed, most of the time all under different lights. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people whine about the color accuracy of the paint, when so much of what we see is due to the lighting. OK, now let’s see if we can identify this new thingy!
sigh Peridexion your’ve stumped me again
No guesses again!? You guys are lucky I can’t find the tank I really wanted to post, I don’t even know what it is called. I’ll let this one stew a little longer, then I’ll find you something easier.
Hum…OK… no guesses yet. We could call him Bill or George or anything but Sue. To tell you the truth, not only was this a very obscure vehicle, but as far as I know, it DOESN’T HAVE A NAME!!! The chassis of a Russian T-26, a “scratch-built” fighting compartment and a 75mm Antitank Cannon 97/38 with a French barrel. Only a few of these were made and this is the only photo of this vehicle I have seen. I’ll let someone else choose the next Mystery Tank.
oooooooooooooo Peridexion you cheater[:(!][}:)][:D]
i’ll post one again i guess.
here is one i have only seen once; this pic
good luck[;)]
looks very italian…
sooo far off m1 [:D]
Looks like a Schutzlos Mittelmassig Kommode, but it’s probably a different version.
very close Peridexion, thought you had it, but nope.
That joke flew right by, didn’t it?
I got it! (the joke)
As for the tank…hmmm…Russian? They liked multiple turrets, they did…
