Armor track painting?

Just a quick question. Do you guys paint your armor tracks first and put them on the tank after the whole thing is build, or do you put them on during the assembly and paint then at the end?

This is how I do it:
1 piece tracks, I paint, wash and drybrush before adding

indies- I paint before adding, then put them on and wash and drybrush last( saves time doing it when they are put together as opposed to individually touching up each piece).

Depends what you want to do…
If you want dust, mud on it or if you want it “clean”.
I mean you dont have to paint rubber tyres in many cases, just play with earth colors.
I usually assembly everything before paint, and many times I assembly tracks like up and down pieces, painted seperately and attach it with super glue.

I did the Paint of the tracks first and put them at last step even if it is a link by link

I’ve painted tracks a number of different ways depending on the tank, the type of tracks, and the look that I’m attempting to achieve. I’ve done vinyl track both before and after assembly, indi tracks both before and after, and even basecoated both types of tracks, installed them, and finished painting them on the tank. I’ve had satisfactory results using both methods.

There are numerous tutorials in magazines and online that describe the detailed steps to perform both techniques.
