Erock, the Tiger site looks great! Thanks for doing that.
Bill, believe me, there’s no way I could get even a 1/76 scale tank done that quickly, let alone this monster! I am a very, very, VERY slow modeler![^]
Got ya though, didn’t I? Heh heh heh! [:D]
I think I spent about 3 months on that old 1/25 Tiger.
Probably gonna do something similar with the Big 'Un, since I loves the dunkelgrau!
I just want to say that I hate you all, lol.[:(!] I feel like the only kid on the block without a bike. Im getting just enough of a glimpse to make me want to say to hell with school this semester. Ill get a refund, and put it towards a brand new 1/16th tiger.[:p]
Guess ill at least have to wait till Christmas break.[V]
good luck to you guys, I will be watching closely.
Erock, saw your new page on the site and it looks great too! Question for you…how do you want us to send stuff to you? Can you cut and paste from an e-mail for text and stuff?? I’m web dumb, I just make the networks run [:D].
Let me know, I’m going to take some pics of my “parts” and do a short blurb so you can start my page but let me know how to help you out as much as I can. You can email if you want.
You can send the pictures to me in email, just make sure that they are in .jpg format. If you want, you can write a summary about each picture or how your build is progressing. Also, include any info on the specific Tiger you are trying to replicate (if needed) and any details/extra parts you will be using.
I will try to keep the page updated every other day.
By the way, UPS dropped off my Etch Mate today. Neat tool [:)] It also comes with a blue replacement plate that is used for rolling/bending circular PE parts. Speaking of which, my Aber PE should be arriving either later today or tomorrow. I want to get everything here before I start my build. Hopefully will start it on Monday at the latest [^]
Bummer! I can’t see the pics here at work. (Oops, did I say work…er I meant my “away from home” site! Yeah, that’s it. I couldn’t spend work time looking at these threads, right?? LOL) I think the firewall blocks some of the pictures. I don’t seem to have any trouble at my “alternate” site, so will have to check when there.
Eric, I can not believe you haven’t busted open all those neat little (and big) packages to check them out. I usually don’t make it to my hobby room. I start splitting that shrinkwrap as soon as I hit the house! lol
Hey guys, who else is doing the static kit?
I wanted to ask if the overseas market version comes in the same cool black and gray canvas carrying bag as it does here in Japan.
The Tiger II comes in a similar canvas bag.
I’ve got the static kit Hulk and yes it comes in the carrying case here in the states. I don’t know why they don’t put the full option kit in it too! I’m thinking of the King Tiger for Christmas this year…have to talk to my honey! [:D] Has anyone done any p/e for the King Tiger yet? I havn’t seen it if they have.
Hi, Eric!
Geez, would the full option kit fit in the same box? It’s kinda tight without all the gizmos!
I don’t think there’s any PE for the Tiger II yet, but I’ve seen some done using a lot of pieces from the Aber Tiger I set, and it all looked good to me! Can’t use those grills, though!
Ah yes, the Honeys! I’m trying to talk mine into letting me get the Pershing, but it costs more than our upcoming trip to Saipan! Gonna be a hard sell, for sure!
Good luck with your honey!
By the way, have you seen the Tiger II?
It’s cool, of course, but nowhere near the accuracy and quality of the much newer Tiger I.
Heck, the original molds are from the 80’s!
Still, it do rock!
I have it on the top shelf of my hobby bench and everytime I walk into the room, I just want to open it up. I did go through and make sure everything was intact but, never open a sealed bag yet…yet
That may change this evening. I get home from work about 11:45pm so, what better way to spend it than 'tearin through a Tiger [;)]
PS…the wife is asleep at that time and the kids are over their friends house for a sleepover tonight.
I couldn’t take it any longer and tore into the kit this afternoon. I bought a closable plastic bin, with dividers, to keep all the screws and nuts and such in.
I had to stand on a chair to take this picture. The table is pretty big and the parts just fill it up. Granted, this is still minus the metal tracks and all the PE stuff…
