Argh...I just spent $20 on one piece

A few nights ago I was trying to cut a panel out from the upper wing of my P-51D Mustang (I have no idea why I didn’t just mask it and paint it that way…), and of course it looked horrible. Despite this, I figured I had no alternative but to glue it on and fix it as best I could. After some painting, sanding, filling in, etc., it still looks horrible. So I whip out my dremel and cut off the top of the wing, believe it or not, without too much trouble. Now I needed a replacement upper wing, so I just called up Tamiya USA to see about getting the part. Ugh, ten dollars for two day shipping and another ten for the stupid part. My little mistake this week cost me twenty bucks. [:(!]

Small price to repair a model that’s 5 months in progress though, I guess.

Geeeeeeeeeeeez for that price you might as have just bought another kit.

I thought about that, but a new kit would have been about $30 plus tax, and additionally it would have necessitated a drive all the way to the hobby shop. At least I won’t make the same mistake again.

Well, it wasn’t cheap indeed [:D]! But from the other hand - sometimes such a part is worth much more than the whole model ! For example: if you are just about to finish your project and in the last moment the undercarriage or propeller or canppy disappears somewhere [:(!]… it’s better to save all your work and ask for that particular part (even much more expensive), than to start the whole job from the begining ! So - take it easy ! Regards !
