I am looking for pictures and information of the russian armoured vehicles Arena AMPS.

Despite my searches I have found little documents,

There won’t be many. It’s very modern and thus very secret. yOu wont find any documents that tell in detail how it works. But T-90’s use it I believe so search for T-90 and you’ll find pics of it mouinted on them.

Concord Publications book on the T-80U MBT (#7503) has some good photos of a T-80UM-1 Snow Leopard with the Arena active defense system mounted on it, but with just a brief description of how the system works. Darlington Productions book Soviet/Russian Armor and Artillery Design Practices 1945-Present has a good section on the T-80UM-1 as well, and with a better description of how the system works. Supposedly, the system impressed observers in Western Europe who saw a live fire exercise, and a joint venture was underway to use the system on Western tanks as well as Russian models.Look on the net, you may find some better, and more recent, info there.
