I tried posting this same question in the aircraft forum (as it deals with real-life aircraft), but got little help; someone thought I should try here: Does anyone know where I could get decals for an F8E Crusader in 1/48 scale? I’m trying to make it up as Shin’s plane from “Area 88”. It’s the Hasegawa F8E, if there’s any question about that. I’m afraid of having to make up my own decals.
I remember seeing kits from this Anime years ago when Robotech was big over here.Hav’nt seen anything from it since.
Its a great Anime and it finally just came out on DVD.I suggest it to all aircraft fans everywhere.

Ya, i saw that kit a while back on HLJ.com, comes with a F-8E, and F-14A, models, with decals and a DVD. As for finding stand alone decals, im doubting any one has them so most likely thing your gonna have to do is make your own.
Thanks, I saw those, but HLJ doesn’t have them anymore, from what I can tell. Besides, the plane as it appeared in the older (1985) miniseries is somewhat different, and better-looking in my opinion. I guess it’s off to the Decals board for me![8]
I haven’t been able to find any either. Kazama’s F-5 is on my list as well ( I had a small F-5 when I was in high school, but I haven’t been able to find one since).
If you have any drawing skill, maybe you could draw up the unicorn and scan it…
I think Shin replaced his downed Crusader with an F-20 Tigershark, not an F-5. I could be wrong though; the two planes do look somewhat similar, after all.
EDIT: Oh, I just found out WHY they look so similar–the F-20 was the last incarnation of the F-5.[:p] So we’re both right.
