Are Alclads and Metalizers compatible ?

Can one be sprayed over the other without problems. I’ve got a selection of metalizers but there a some shades available in Alclads that would be very useful also. Are the Alclads prethined for airbrushing?

Thanks,

Tom

Alcads are used right from the bottle and must be airbrushed. They give a hard finish when try so you should be fine to use just about anything over them, but as always try on a small area first just in case

Most of the Alclads work best over a gloss black finish, so I would not use it over a metalizer. However, the other way around might work.

I have had zero issues using the two on a build. A word of caution though: Alclad is tough as nails and Metalizer has a glass jaw. If you’re going to be doing a lot of masking for various shades of NMF, panels, etc. then I would encourage you to use Alclad as the base. Metalizer just doesn’t play well with masking tape.

Thank you all for the info. That’s what I needed to know.

Thanks again,

Tom
