Archer Fine Transfers gets ready for the Tamiya 1/48th T34

Archer now has available three different sets of 1/48th scale WWII Soviet tactical and unit symbols:

I’m not that familiar with these, but they are certainly interesting. The Tamiya T34/76 is to be in the next batch of quarter scale releases from Mr. T.

I’d like to think the T34 is fast on the scene, but am skeptical. They’ve been doing 2 releases per month. In March it was the Hetzer and the oil drums. Projected for April release are the road sign set, and a set of 15 figures. No mention of anything else. I suspect we’ll see the M10 and M4A3 as their May releases. Both these latter kits were displayed at the Nurmberg Toy Show( see Track48 site) . The T34 wasn’t there. Thus far 12 kits are available, with another 3 identified as future releases. Further, Mr. Tamiya has confirmed that a Panther and PzKpfwIV variant will also be offered. That would leave 3 unknowns in 2005 for speculation. An obvious guess would be a StugIII G, or late Tiger; assuming the cast hulls are for variant use.

Well, we’ll see! Anyway, there are those decals for when the T34 is available.

Thanks, Larry. They look cool.

That’s good news, Larry!

ARCHER UPDATE:

The 1/48 US Army transfers I ordered arrived yesterday. Only 9 days from the States to Japan! Not bad at all. Still can’t beat Accurate Armour’s four day shipping from Scotland to Japan, though. THAT was quick!

The itty bitty transfers look great. Exactly what I needed for my current MBT70 build.

Ironic, with all the new 1/48 stuff coming out, I’m building a 1/48 kit from 1969…
