I’ve noticed a lot of hobby forums using PHPBB (don’t know what ARC uses) software have been hit lately, word must be out on hacker boards. I noticed the "hacker proof " logo here, if I were a hacker that would be an irresistable challenge!
Basically,what i was told was the e-mail is a verification from the back up site asking you to verify your a member & you’ll get one after every post.The is a button on the reply thread saying “send daily updates” & in order to get these,you need to verify membership.
The downside is,from what I’ve been told,is you get bombarded with SPAM!!! And I aint talking Monyty Python here !!!

Just an update to the ARC situation.
Steve has tried unsuccessfully to bring the board back up and has employed some technical support to get everything working again. It might yet be a few days before ARC re-emerges.
Rest assured there will be changes made to ensure ARC does not get hacked again.

Hhhmm, I saw on ARC that Steve is spending a weekend off.
I believe he will be a little bit “srewed up” with all this mess he had to deal with…

[:D] Nothing is wrong with a semi, if, oh, say, you DRIVING a semi! My dad’s truck has good steering, but going from that small Mazda to a Fullsize truck with a longbed, I feel like I’m about 10’ in the air and the truck feels like it is about twice as long as it really is! I have driven a couple old Dodge trucks back in high school when the old beater trucks is all me and my buddies could afford, they all had HORRIBLE steering! Half a turn just to change lanes… Sporty[:o)]
The World of Warcraft guild Im in website was hacked last week as well (he was chinese). I will make fun of chinese pharmers in game whenever they talk in “say” so maybe it was some sort of payback. The funniest thing is the website has almost no info on it as we are all IRL friends and just talk in game, over the phone or in person. The main feature of the site is we post our parties and cookouts. I would guess that the high profile sites have been hit and our hacker must have drawn the shortest straw.
