Applying Future with a Paintbrush?

How well can Future be applied to large surfaces (such as a fuselage or wing) with a paintbrush?

I’ve heard some folks say that it “auto-levels”, so paintbrush streaks should not occur, right?

It’s designed to provide a glossy finish to a floor with a mop…nuff said.

As always, when brushing large areas use as wide a brush as you can.

Do you fellas think these would work well?

Wow! What scale are you working in?

Steve

I glossed my P-61 that way and it turned out great, FWIW.

I am Future Challenged" meaing I can’t get it to AB all that well and have had some pretty good result with a brush. A wide soft brush works fine. That foam should work too but watch for bubbles. I have never done an entire airframe that way though but as someone already said… it levels on the floor so…

[(-D] That is good!

I, like Wing_nut, am Future challenged as well. I get a nasty, pebbly finish everytime I use the stuff! Its very aggravating!!! I just bought some Tamiya acrylic clear in a bottle and some Pollyscale Flat Clear so I don’t have to rely on the Future so heavily. I don’t know how you guys do it, but I don’t seem to be able to get a good finish out of it? Back to the subject, I have brushed it on several small parts and it always came out better that way then using the A/B!

For selected areas of an armor model, brushing future is no problem. For large areas of an aircraft model you should airbrush it. You have worked hard to perfect a smooth surface that may be bare metal. Why try and save the 15 minutes it would take to spray the future and clean the airbrush?

I had been having the pebble-like finish with Future. I switched to a general purpose acrylic nozzle on the AB, and I spray a b it closer to the surface- maybe 3 inches. Putting out a heavier spray closer to the surface seemed to take care of the problem. I think it was drying up before it hit the surface.
