Aoshima Explosion

This is my first build of 2017, from, as my wife calls it ‘The Production Line’!

This is otherwise known as the Aristo JZS 161 year 2000. I modified the suspension because although shown on the boxtop with lowered, cambered suspension, it doesn’t have the parts to do that as in the Rocket Bunny kits. Painted/masked bonnet, taken back with oven cleaner and brake fluid to show the undercoat as well as the red topcoat in a matt form. Added decals from kit and stash.

The interior was painted in a dappled (using the paint brush at 90 degrees to the part) matt sand finish, with dial and seat belt decals.

Hello Pat!

You sure build some wicked cars - and I’m sure the Japanese would love 'em! I’m not sure what you did to the hood (or bonnet, like you write), but it looks interesting. The interior is nice, too! Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Thank you Pawel and a very Happy New Year to you. I saw a few new Rally Cars with what I call crackle finish. Tape off variuos areas, spray on various colours and when dry rub back or in my case use chemicals to wash away different levels of paint. Well it’s my first try with this methoed and paints so I can only get better, that’s what modelling is all about to me. It’s creativity!

Hmmm;

Ima gotta tell you dis , dats a nices set o wheels Brudda ! Very nice Pat ! T.B.

Thanks Tanker-Builder, this is a comprehensive kit with plenty of options, seats, custom parts, steering wheels, radio aerials etc.

Sweet build!

Thanks mississippivol, Happy New Year!

Dang Pat! What an intro to the New Year! Great show!!

P.S. I think it was you I PM’d over at MCM not too long ago. Not sure how active you are over there but I sent one anyways.

Thanks mustang1989, Happy New Year to you and yours. Yes a good start to 2017 with this one. Hadn’t stanced, cambered suspension before! Yes also caught your message on MCM, I put my stuff on seven sites now, although on some (ScalePlastic) I have lots of views but very few comments!
