Anyone remember where that thread is??????

I am trying to find the thread about using oil paints to shade the cockpit details. I went out and bought a bunch of oils and I am looking for the thread to reference.

It was the one with the pictures that walked you through using them.

Embark sorry ya got baried I looked at your thread here but I wasnt to clear on which one your were talkin about. I have a spit I am currnetly working I started to post about 2 weeks ago and I did a pic walk thru on my cockpit which I put an enamel wash in. Can you remember a bit more to what you saw… might help us help you.

There was someone who posted a walkthrough of using oil paints to shade your cockpit.

The pics showed spreading the oil paints all over the interior and then pulling them off with qtips. I went out and bought some artists oils last night and tried to do the same thing, but I messed it up and I think I am going to have to strip it and start over again.

Well stay with it Enbark because through practice you WILL know how to do this without having to fgollow someone elses advice. Only advice I think you need really is layer it. Put some on let it start to set then add a little more. Becareful, you put too much on and the second coat will pull the first. Always remember to future the parts first and let dry 24 hours minimum before doing ANY wash. The when you have the wash done spary the whole thing with flat coat. Good luck and keep doing it.
