I did a bit of digging around for the “less-than-traditional” armor… and saw a couple things that just impressed me for appearance.

Anyone model one of these?

Or this one really appealed to my railroad interests:

How may Leopolds and Karl Morsers’ were actually made?

Jon, does your reference to “2 (maybe 3) morsers” mean variations of the model kit?

I really like the look of that particular monster. Just boldly states, “We ah hee-ah to blow yo’ ta oblivion!”

Does anyone have an idea of how many of these two pieces of equipment were built “real life?”

I bought the Trumpeter Morser kit. Haven’t built it, but every time I look at the box, I drool. It’s an amazing kit, goes together well, and will doubtless be a very impressive model.

sorry i had to lighten up after another thread in here[banghead]

but theres a real leopold cannon at Aberdeen (its real name was Anzio anne, i think?)
and theres another one in france on the coast of the English channel

and theres a real Morser at Kubinka in russia

I wouldn’t stake my life on this but I think there were 6 morsers, and 2 or 3 Leopolds. But I would check google to be sure.

Well, I found the kit I want to build on the Morser (1/72 scale)!

Of course, it obviously has additional things, the crew I am sure is separate…
and probably a bit of extra work in superdetailing, but I like it!

It is a very impressive piece. I just wish someone would release a styrene munitions carrier for them.

Excellent idea! Do you have any photos to refer to? I would really love to build one of them to make a complete dio. Being from the realm of railroad modelling, I am not a foreigner to kitbash/scratchbuild concepts.

I thought he was referring to a third vehicle that might carry shells, etc. But yes, this kit comes with both the Karl and the smaller vehicle in the pics.

Is there a third item in the kit, not pictured?
