mstanley’s beautiful Fokker DVIII reminded me of something I’ve been wanting lately: strut stock. I know Contrail used to make extruded strut stock, then stopped years ago. The nice thing about the extruded stuff is that it was seamless. But, I’d be happy if anyone made lengths of strut material, seams or not, and I can’t remember the last time I saw any. Does anyone know of a maker of the stuff?
And while we’re at it, whatever happened to that stretch material that was used for rigging biplanes? It came and went, and I assume it is no longer available. These things come to mind because I have the new Eduard DH 2 on the way and it is nothing but a cockpite tub surrounded by nothing but struts and wires. I love the airplane, but modeling it is not for the squeamish, regardless of the maker. It is probably the most scratchbuilt type of any airplane because there is no pesky fuselage to bother with. Just a bathtub with a seat in it and a gun in front.

Not sure if this helps but I bought both the strut material and the stretch material at a show (UK) last year from the Aeroclub stand - but they are part of Hannats now I think - you could try Hannants - I have always found they respond to emails quit well.
I bought some last year (Aeroclub)
Very useful.
I think the Aeroclub stuff goes under the brand name, Strutz.
Regards,
You can still buy it from Aeroclub, who now produce it. I ordered it direct from here:
http://www.aeroclub-models.com/s.html?c=114&cn=CONTRAIL
Rollmodels.com had both brass and plastic struts in stock w/in the last 6 months, because that where I got mine
You have the struts - if you are really up against it for the stretchy stuff let me know and I will send you a metre or so which should be enough - no charge of course.
