like the topic says, does anyone make a model of the Matilda 2 besides tamiya? it’s really odd that such a (at least in my opinion) prominent and popular tank has just ONE model out in 1:35th scale. if not, does anyone know if the tamiya kit is any good? i just bought their KV-1 and that being the only tamiya model i’ve ever bought and having motorisation holes and being made up of something like 3 sprues worth parts kind of puts me off their stuff now.
I’m not aware any others myself in 35. That was one of their older offerings though. I feel your pain on the KV, fortunately Trumpeter is releasing like 3 new molding KV’s soon. [:D]
I have their kit and to me it looks very good.
Here is a detail and a conversion for an australian version.

One of the top resin manufacturers, Tiger Model Designs (www.tigermodels.com) has had the Matilda II on their “to be released” list for a while. It’s been delayed b/c they’ve gotten more accurate information. Not for beginners. Resin kits aren’t cheap either. Accurate? You can bet on it.
Tamiya is your only viable option, and luckily, it’s a pretty good kit.
Nothing to be afraid of, for sure.
