I would like to build a Cessna 140 for my father-in-law. He recently owns a Cessna 140 and recently totally refinished it, including replacing the metal surface that someone had put on the wings and replaced them with fabric. He did an awesome job inside and out. Looks like a brand new plane even though it’s 50 odd years old. I would like to build a kit painted just like he did, but I can’t seem to find one on the net. I’ll keep searchin, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I’m afraid that there is no plastic kit of a Cessna 140, but you could probably find a wooden desktop model at one of the various aviation sites that sell those type of models.

Why don’t you try to scratch build it? It’s not nearly as scary as it first appears, and you can choose the scale, level of detail, material and so on! There are good 3-view scale drawings available that can guide you. And, with access to the airplane, you can get photos and measurements any time you need!
I think you would really enjoy the project, and you would have a model that nobody else has!
Davrukr; If you don’t want to scratch one, you can use either the 1/72 Airfix or Model USA 1/48 scale L-19/O-1 Bird dog. Both aircraft look similer. I am sure with some mods. that you can make it look closer to the Cessna 140.
