I have about enough cash to get one kit, and I have been eyeing this one for a while, but after buying two trumpeter kits and being completly disapointed, the rail tank I am probably not even going to build there are so many fitting problems…
The M3 Light tank Stuart is vastly different in class and weight and usage than the M3 Lee or M3 Grants. You can’t use the Stuart’s tracks or suspension.
The M3 Grant’s major flaw is that its suspension units are too tall. Resicast and Formations have resin replacements for about $20. The Academy M7 Priest also has them in plastic (that’s why people are fuming – Academy corrected the inaccurate ones from the M3 Lee for the M7 Priest but left the bad ones in the subsequent M3 Grant). There are some angle deficiencies with some hull plates but only someone with Ordnance Dept drawings could tell you that (which I have BTW. LOL)
The PMMS review is for those of us who want very exacting info and accuracy. As is, the kit will build up to a reasonable representation of a Grant. 99.99% of your audience wouldn’t be able to pick out a single inaccuracy.
Get the kit, build it and enjoy it, I’d say. It’s decently engineered and should build well for you.
Thanks, I should have made myself more clear. What I truly ment was something along the lines of ‘will there be any massive gaps, or pieces that dont fit correctly, or poorly molded pieces’ I ask because I have just thrown my trumpeter pzkfw rail tank to the side because how baddly it fits together
Its more of a… I think the tank is pretty cool looking, will I have any problems building it. I dont really care about accuracy of the parts or anything.
