I have the ESCI kit, with a photo-etched set from Eduard, and I’m modifying it into a Peruvian T-55… the first thing I must do is scratchbuild a new loader cupola… Peruvian T-55’s is like the T-62’s… well… the point is: The ESCI kit don’t come with any towing cable… a friend of mine gave me a lot of spare parts… included the towing cable’s heads, and another friend gave me some cord for make them (more accurate than provided with the Trumpeter kit)… In the Trumpeter kit’s instruction sheet must say how long the towing cables should be (in cm I supose)… That’s what I want to know… anyone remember that?.. thanks in advance.
My modeler built one a few years ago, with Finnish markings. Here’s some pics :

For other armors, please refer to this menu of mine (I hardly missed any armors) :
OOPs, that’s T-55 but not with a mine roller. But I have T-72 w/ mine roller, also from Trumpeter :

Happy modeling!
He is not looking for pics of models built by your “modelers.” Which have all bent up and overly long cables holding the rollers above, looks really “professional.” They should be taut. He is looking for the length of the tow cable.
Tow cable length should be 114mm.
Wow, yeah just noticed those cables, that is kind of a stupid oversight.
Still, maybe you should lay off him a bit, lately every time he posts, you post something in return, usually crude and direct.
Not to argue with you, or criticise, since you DO have quit a bit of very useful and most legitimate knowledge, and you always do answer the question. Many people on this forum, myself included, appreciate that, as I usually learn something from your posts.
However, I don’t understand the scorn that your posts are just dripping with when referring to anything by Model Maniac. Lay off. If it bothers you so much, just ignore it, don’t post about it. I really don’t even understand what exactly you’re trying to accomplish.
Also, with yesterday’s comment, in the Dio forum, referring to a member as “new guy”. So what if he’s new? His opinion is suddenly less credible than yours, because you’ve been here longer?
You know, everyone can be direct and say it as it is, it takes absolutely no talent to do that. I apologise for the rant, but enough is enough. Were it any other member than you being so direct, there would probably be quite a few more people attacking.
Again, I sincerely thank you for all the input into this forum, as it makes this a place of great learning, but for once be the bigger man, not a jerk, and try to be polite. Answer the question and leave it at that. We all already know what you think of this guy, no need to post about it every time.
I see your view. May just lay off a little. The new guy comment was partly in jest, partly to let him know he needs to look at a few more posts and know who is who and what is what before he starts telling people off.
lol, I re-read, and gathered, so on that point I apologise. And on another note, I can see your frustration. I just went through the Dio forum, saw the 5 threads on the “dioramas”, and notwithstanding the directness, I can completely agree with you.
Got ya, fully agree, no offense taken.
I have stated here before. I am a Soldier. In my line of work, you don’t pull punches. Diplomacy and political correctness are for the politicians. I deal with directness and I call a spade a spade. That is the way I have to be, or people can get killed. That’s the way I am, and always will be.
I will be direct and give you honest feedback, pulling no punches. I will also give you pointers on how to fix it and what needs to be done to make it better. Constructive Criticism.
