Hey gang,
I’ve been trying to scratch build all the missing detail in the hasegawa hellcat engine (P&W R2800 late model), but it seems like it’s going to take a while as there is quite some detail missing. The rocker arm covers are missing from the cylinders, so the the pushrods have nothing to push against - they’re just free-floating. So I’m building tiny little rockers from sprue.
Plus, it looks like the color callouts are all wrong on the sheet, so I’m going to have to go back and repaint what I’ve done once I get my new refernce material.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has built an engine kit from Contact-Resine and whether or not the kit is worth another $30. I want to cut out an access panel on the cowling to expose the engine, but even then, I don’t know how much will be exposed.
I’m taking any advice you guys might have.
Thanks,
Fred
